Planning a Church Game Night?

You’re getting ready for fun and fellowship at a game night at your church, but oh no — you need an intergenerational group activity that is great for Bible beginners AND pros alike!

Look no further: here’s a 90-minute game that mixes Bible trivia with less-than-inspired questions like “Where does Jesus eat when he’s looking for a fast food restaurant?” or “What modern-day gifts would the wise men give?”

Beyond a little bit of learning, your fellowship night will include plenty of laughter, some friendly competition, and opportunities for team-building spirit and get-to-know-yous!

My Experience

When our Deacons hosted this event, we had between 22-25 participants who formed five teams of 4-5 players. This was a great size, but you could easily scale down or up depending on the congregation. I wouldn’t recommend less than five players total.

Though we used two computers—one for the host, and one for a projector—you could keep things simple and project the host’s screen.

To raise the stakes, our winning team picked a hymn they could block from worship for a year. The leading candidates were Amazing Grace and Silent Night, but eventually, a lesser-known hymn was selected (and coincidentally—or not—one member’s all-time favorite).
